Our trails wins American Trail's Winning Website Award for 2009
American Trails Magazine and website announced the winners of their 2009 Winning Websites contest and the Alabama Scenic River Trail won in its category. Read all about it at American Trails website.

Here's the story on what the award is about, taken from the email sent to us to announce the award:

"Thanks to everyone for being so patient! This was the hardest year ever for selecting winners and I hope you will appreciate how many really good websites were entered. There is a link from our home page and the direct address to the Winning Websites page-- which includes all the entries-- is:

Our goal is to publicize the excellent work that trails and greenways enthusiasts are doing across North America. It's really impossible to pick the one "best" community trail website, or a single site with the greatest graphics. We try to pick some striking websites that are representative of the efforts to promote the benefits and delights of trails. We hope everyone who entered the contest will take a look at some of the other entries and gain some new ideas. We'll be highlighting the contest winners in the upcoming American Trails Magazine, in the next eNewsletter, and on our website. Encouraging others in the trails world to study these good examples of websites is just one of the ways we support trails across America (and Canada)."
