Trail Angels
 

These are volunteers who can help arrange your trip, locate outfitters and gear, provide fact-finding and directions, haul your boat and gear, help you over portages and innumerable other services, and save you from miserable experiences. Depending on the situation, they may ask to be reimbursed for costs such as gas and other expenses incurred helping you. They are not on call, but are arranged by prior agreement as volunteer service providers for the Alabama Scenic River Trail. The districts they are listed under can be identified on the ASRT District Map, above. They have provided great assistance to paddlers and pwerboaters alike.

 

District 1—Northwest—Tennessee River, Bear Creek, Butthatchee River.

Alabama River above Montgomery. David Musgrove. Phone 334-312-0151, email DavidMsgrv@aol.com. Musgrove Landing on the Alabama River encompasses 13.57 acres and 310 feet of waterfront with a dock and concrete boat ramp. A sign and Jolly Roger (pirate) flag mark the dock and boat ramp which is on your right hand side if you are headed downstream towards Montgomery. The landing is located 7 miles upstream from Montgomery and 10.5 miles downstream from where the Coosa and Dead River(branch of the Tallapoosa) join, which puts the landing at 17 miles downstream from Ft Toulouse. By road the landing is located at this address; 2378 Alabama River Parkway, Millbrook, AL 36054, which is ten minutes from downtown Montgomery, ten minutes from downtown Prattville, five minutes from Millbrook, and 15 minutes from Wetumpka.
