Your Hub for the Great Alabama 650 Race

Extreme athletes test their strength, endurance, and mental fortitude in the longest paddle race in the United States. This epic adventure takes racers along the core section of the Alabama Scenic River Trail– at 650 miles it’s the longest National Water Trail in a single state. From rushing whitewater, flat lakes and big rivers to the ambling river delta and out onto Mobile Bay, the race challenges even the most experienced paddlers. This 10-day nonstop race is a one-of-a-kind experience that will not soon be forgotten!

  • Race Dates: October 4, 2025 – October 14, 2025
  • Distance: 650-mile paddle race across the state of Alabama
  • Route : Begins at Weiss Lake in the northeast section of the state and finishes at Fort Morgan in Mobile Bay on the Gulf of Mexico

The Alabama Scenic River Trail (ASRT) is proud to annually hold the Great Alabama 650, now in its 7th year.  We encourage you to explore all that the AL650 has to offer and consider paddling Alabama for yourself using our many paddling resources!
